Empowering Counties Through Advocacy, Education & Ethical Investing.

About NTLA

The NTLA was founded in 1997 to represent the interests of investors, lenders, service providers, and government officials in regards to tax lien sales, as well as promoting the benefit of those sales as reliable income for municipal, county, and state budgets.

The mission of the National Tax Lien Association (NTLA) is to be the primary organization advancing the legislative, regulatory, business, public relations and educational interests of the tax lien sale industry in the United States.

Advocacy That Works for You

NTLA actively supports the preservation and growth of tax lien and deed sales nationwide. We work on your behalf to advocate for legislation that protects tax sales as a vital and consistent revenue stream for municipalities and counties. Our voice in Washington and across state legislatures promotes financial stability at the local level.

NTLA Membership

NTLA membership connects counties with the resources, advocacy, and ethical investor community they need to strengthen local finances, protect homeowners, and ensure fair, efficient tax sales.

Education for Investors, Peace of Mind for Counties

We train tax lien and deed investors through NTLA University, free webinars, and continuing education programs. With better-informed bidders participating in your sales, you benefit from smoother auctions, fewer disputes, and more responsible property ownership.

A Safety Net for Homeowners in Crisis

As a member, your county supports the NTLA Foundation, which assists homeowners facing hardships such as disability, job loss, or the death of a spouse. By helping families avoid foreclosure due to unpaid property taxes, we preserve homeownership and community stability.

Help Homeowners in Need

The mission of the NTLA Foundation is to offer financial assistance to Americans facing significant hardship and at risk of losing their homes due to property tax foreclosure. This includes, but is not limited to, elderly individuals, disabled veterans, active U.S. military personnel, and many others in need. By contributing to the NTLA Foundation, donors become part of a philanthropic effort dedicated to saving these homes and providing crucial support.
