Porter County’s annual tax sale netted the collection of almost $1.3 million in delinquent taxes, penalties and tax sales costs from the owners and buyers, according to a release from Auditor Vicki Urbanik.
The sale, held Tuesday, resulted in back taxes and penalties fully paid on a total of 405 parcels, she said.
In all, 787 parcels originally were certified for tax sale. Of those, the delinquencies on 333 parcels totaling more than $900,000 were fully paid prior to the sale. A total of 50 bidders registered for the sale, which resulted in another 72 properties sold.
